Mask Campaign in Semper Timur Targets Traditional Market

Joint officers held a mask campaign at Jongkok Market, Jalan Kebantenan IV, RW 02, Semper Timur Urban Village, Cilincing Sub-district, North Jakarta to encourage the use of masks to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

Semper Timur Urban Village Head, Cahyo Huboto explained, the mask campaign was targeting Jongkok Market because it is the center of people's activity that is prone to crowds. There were 5 Satpol PP personnel, 2 Bhabinkamtibmas personnel, and 2 Urban Village Babinsa personnel who were deployed in the campaign.

"We know that COVID-19 cases are increasing again. Therefore, we are trying to campaign for the use of masks to raise public awareness during the pandemic," he mentioned, Wednesday (2/9).

49 Netted for Not Wearing Masks in West Jakarta

Most Jongkok Market traders sell vegetables and side dishes. This market starts to get busy from morning until noon.

As the initial stage of the mask campaign, officers will not impose fines on traders, visitors, and residents who are caught not wearing masks but will only give warnings.

"Those who violate health protocols will be warned and asked to wear the mask that we provide," he stated.
